Passwords are the missing piece
Apple's Legacy Contact doesn't pass on saved passwords, and most people never write theirs down anywhere safe.
Heritkey keeps your passwords, accounts and important documents in an end-to-end encrypted vault. If something happens to you, the people you choose can open it. Until then, nobody can, not even us.

The problem
Email, photos, bank accounts, subscriptions: everything sits behind passwords nobody else knows.
Apple's Legacy Contact doesn't pass on saved passwords, and most people never write theirs down anywhere safe.
Easy to lose, easy for the wrong person to find, and almost always out of date.
Without the details, families can spend months just finding out which accounts and policies exist.
How it works
Add passwords, accounts, documents and messages, at your own pace. Big buttons, clear words.
Invite your children or anyone you trust. They accept on their own phone. They know the vault exists, but they can't see inside.
If something happens, they ask for access. If you don't reply within the waiting period you chose, the vault opens for them.
Encryption
Everything is encrypted on your phone before it's stored. Our servers only ever hold scrambled data.
Your vault is encrypted with AES-256 on your device. We never have the key, so we can't read it, and neither can anyone who asks us.
When an heir accepts your invitation, their phone creates a personal key that never leaves it. Your phone then seals a copy of your vault key that only their phone can open. You confirm each heir with a short matching code, so nobody can slip in a different key.
We keep the sealed copy but can't open it. Your heir could open it, but doesn't have it. We hand it over only if they ask for access and you don't reply within your waiting period. You're notified the moment they ask, and can refuse with one tap.

They ask for access in the app. You're notified right away and can refuse. If you don't reply within the waiting period you chose, from 7 to 90 days, the vault opens for them.
Your vault key is sealed separately for each heir, using a personal key that only exists on that heir's phone. We store the sealed copies but can't open them, and your heirs can't open your vault without them. When your access rule is met, we hand the sealed copy to your heir, and only their phone can unseal it. Before that, neither we nor your heirs can open your vault alone.
Just tap Refuse. Nothing is shared, and you can remove that person from your heirs at any time.
